MGBS-Chandrayangutta Metro Line: Land Acquisition Begins

MGBS-Chandrayangutta Metro Line | Hyderabad, Aug 24 (Maxim News): Acquisition of lands for the 7.5 km metro line from MGBS-Chandrayangutta has started. Around 1200 properties are required for road widening and construction of stations on this route. It is interesting to note that so far 400 properties have been notified.

It is known that 15 km work has been proposed from JBS to Falaknuma as part of Corridor -2 in the first phase. However, there were large objections at that time as religious buildings and prayer halls would have to be removed in the construction to be taken up to Falaknuma after crossing MGBS.

As a result, the L&T company has completed the works upto MGBS and is running trains upto there. The Congress government has paid special attention to the works.

Chandrayangutta in addition to the 5.5 km stopover to Falaknuma in the first phase, another 2 km is being extended and efforts are being made to make the facility of going directly to the airport available from there. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the works on March 8 this year at Falaknuma.

The 7.5 km distance from the MGBS-Chandrayangutta Metro Line will be completed in an armed manner. According to the GHMC master plan, the road will be widened by 100 feet. At the stations, however, it will be widened to 120 feet.

Officials say that in the case of many properties between Darulshifa and Shalibanda, each property needs to be widened by 20 to 25 feet. Also, between Shalibanda and Chandrayangutta each property has to extend upto 10 feet.

In the case of properties in areas with a lot of stations and bends, the expansion of the road will be a bit more. Along with the conventional survey methods, drone surveys are also being conducted in a way that can be viewed in 3D.

HMRL engineers and staff are surveying the field level to estimate the value of properties that are being lost in the construction of the metro. Extra care is being taken to protect 103 religious and sensitive buildings along the metro route.
