J&K Assembly Elections: Omar Abdullah To Be Chief Minister
J&K/Hyderabad, Oct 8 (Maxim News): The counting of votes for the 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir is over. The National Conference alliance comprising the National Conference, Congress, CPM, and Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Parties together won in 49 constituencies.

The National Conference led by former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has won most of the seats in the alliance with 42 seats, the Congress party won 6 seats, and CPM one.
BJP candidates won in 29 constituencies, the People’s Democratic Party of former Chief Minster Mahbuba Mufti, won 3 seats, While 6 independent party candidates won two others. The National Conference alliance won enough seats to form the government, With this, Omar Abdullah has been announced as the Chief Ministerial candidate of the alliance. (Maxim News)
