Mansukh Mandaviya To Lead Sports And Fitness Events In Kerala Today

New Delhi, June 23: Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya will visit Kerala today, to participate in a series of sports and fitness programmes aimed at promoting active lifestyles and strengthening public engagement in sports.

The minister will begin the visit by joining the ‘Cycling by the Sea’ event from Chackai ITI to Shankumugham Beach in Thiruvananthapuram.

The programme has been organised to support the Fit India Movement and encourage citizens to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles through cycling and fitness activities.

Sports and Fitness Events in Kerala

During the visit, Dr. Mandaviya will also tour G.V. Raja Sports School at Mylom, a sports institution known for producing athletes who have represented India in various disciplines.

The visit highlights the government’s focus on expanding grassroots sports development and supporting young talent.

Later, the minister will participate in the 2026 Aichi Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run at Kerala University Stadium.

The event is part of outreach activities ahead of the 2026 Asian Games and coincides with International Olympic Day celebrations.

Organisers expect more than 40,000 participants, including students, athletes, youth volunteers and members of the public.

The event aims to promote sportsmanship, increase public participation and showcase Kerala’s sporting culture while building momentum for the upcoming Asian Games.
