The areas where earthquakes occur are divided into four zones based on their intensity, Zone 2,, Zone 3, Zone 4, and Zone 5. Zone 5 is the most seismically active area. Zone 2 is the area with the lowest intensity. Currently, Telangana is in Zone 2, which has the lowest level of earthquakes. There is a fault zone in the Godavari basin. This causes earthquakes. A fault zone is a place where two blocks in the interior of the earth suddenly slide past each other. Sometimes, the enormous energy released due to adjustments in the interior results in earthquakes. Seismologists say that there are cracks and faults in many places in the Godavari basin. Experts predict that this is what causes earthquakes in this area. (Maxim News)
