Bhadradri Temple Ghee Controversy: Minister Konda Surekha Warns Temple EO

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Maxim News): Minister for Endowment, Konda Surekha advises Vijaya Dairy ghee contractors not to act in a way that brings disrepute to the government. Minister Konda Surekha expressed anger over the awarding of the ghee supply tender to the Bhadrachalam Sri Seetha Rama Chandraswamy Temple to a private company from AP, Rythu Dairy.

The Minister questioned the officials on how they could violate the rules by ignoring the Government’s orders.  The Telangana government has been alerted by the controversy over adulterated ghee in the preparation of laddus at the Tirupati shrine. 

The government has ordered that ghee be supplied to famous shrines in the state from the state-run Vijaya Dairy.  In this, the Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department,  Shailaja Ramaiah, issued an official order.  Kondasurekha was furious over the handing over of the work order for ghee supply to the Rythu Dairy of AP by Bhadrachalam Devasthanam EO Ramadevi.  in disregard to the Government order.

Minister Konda Surekha has ordered higher officials to issue a charge memo to Bhadrachalam Sri Seetharama Chandraswamy Devasthanam EO Rama Devi for violating government orders.

Minister Konda Surekha has clarified that the ghee supply contract should be handed over to Vijaya Dairy, a public-sector undertaking.  It seems that Bhadrachalam Ramalaya EO Rama Devi may be surrendered back to her parent department.  (Maxim News)
