Telangana MLAs Disqualification Case: KTR To Supreme Court

Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 3 (Maxim News): BRS Working President K.Tarak Rama Rao has approached the Supreme Court seeking disqualification of MLAs who defected from the party in Telangana.

A bench of Justice B.R Govai and Justice Vinod Chandran heard the petition filed by KTR today (Monday).

Senior advocate Arya Ramasundaram argued on behalf of BRS. The bench added the petition filed by KTR to the petition filed earlier on the same matter. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the petition filed by KTR will be heard together with the disqualification petitions of Danam Nagender.

Kadiyam Srihari and Tella Venkat Rao. The Supreme Court has announced that it will hear the old petition together on 10th of this month and has adjourned the further hering.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court heard a petition filed by BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy two days ago seeking disqualification of MLAs who have switched parties. The Supreme Court made key comments. The Supreme Court expressed its anger at the Telangana Speaker.

Responding to the Telangana Speaker’s delay in taking a decision on MLAs who have switched parties, the Supreme Court asked in the last hearing how much more time is needed.

In your opinion, what is the appropriate time to take a decision on the defection of BRS MLAs? The Supreme Court asked whether it is until the end of the term of the Legislative Assembly like in Maharashtra.

The bench ordered advocate Mukul Rohatgi to find out how much time the Speaker needs and then adjourned the further hearing.

It is known that BRS MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy and Vivekananda had filed a petition seeking the disqualification of BRS MLAs kadiyam Srihari. Danam Nagender and Tella Venkata Rao. (Maxim News)
