India Surpasses Japan As The 4th Largest Economy

Delhi/Hyderabad, May 25 (Maxim News): India has surpassed Japan to become the fourth largest economy, said NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subramanian.

He participated in a media conference after the 10th meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council. He revealed many interesting facts about India’s economic progress.

BVR Subramaniam said that the current geopolitical and economic conditions are favourable for India. “We are currently the fourth largest economy with four trillion dollars. ” he said.

According to IMF data, the Indian economy is bigger than Japan’s, he said. “The US, China and Germany are currently ahead of India. If we stick to the current plans, India will become the third largest economy in the next 2.5 to 3 years. he said.

The NITI Aayog CEO also responded to Trump’s objection to manufacturing iPhones in India. He said that there is still uncertainty over tariffs, but believed that in the current situation, phones made in India will be cheaper. He said that the second phase of asset monetization is also being prepared and its details will be revealed soon.

It is known that Trump is insisting that phones sold in the United States be made in the United States. He has slo issued warnings to Apple and Samsung in this regard. He has warned that he will definitely impose a 25 per cent tariff on companies that sell phones made abroad in the United States.
