Panjagutta police apprehended four persons who committed cheating & extortion of new rs. 2000 notes

1] Dabbti Upender S/o. D. Narasimhulu, aged. 31 yrs, Occ. Car Driver, R/o. RTC Colony, LB Nagar, Hyderabad, N/o. Yadadri Dist., Telangana State.
2] Suragani Naveen S/o. S. Mattaiah, aged. 30 yrs, Occ. Car Driver, R/o. Road No. 11, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, N/o. Suryapet Dist.
3] Anagani Bucchaiah @ Bucchi Narayana S/o. A. Venkaiah, aged. 38 yrs, Occ. Car Driver, R/o. Abdulapurmet (V & M), Ranga Reddy Dist., N/o. Khammam Dist.
4] Suragani Naresh S/o. S. Somaiah, aged. 26 yrs, Occ. Home Guard in ACB Head Quarters, R/o. Warasiguda, Secunderabad, N/o. Chilukuru (V), Suryapet Dist.
Accused persons arrested on 17-12-2016

Modus Operandi:
The accused persons A1 to A4 are working as car drivers in Hyderabad and A4 is working in ACB Office as a Home Guard driver since three to four months. A1 to A3 hatched a plan to extort money from A1’s friend Venkanna that they know parties with old demonetized notes of Rs.1000 and Rs.500 notes for commission of 5%, and thought to tell them later that they were caught by the Police.
As the complainant J.Mahesh and his friend Venkanna came near Petrol Bunk, near Somajiguda junction with Rs.12 Lakhs new Rs.2000 notes, on the directions of A1, the accused A2 met him and took the cash and told that he will come within 30 minutes with old notes, later and A1 & A2 switched off their mobile phones.
Later, as per their prior plan, A1 to A3 thought to tell Venkanna that they were caught by the Police but as their relative A4 has been working in ACB Office as a Home Guard driver A2 & A3 talked with A4 and told him what they did and asked him to threaten Venkanna saying that they were caught by ACB officials along with net cash, so that they will not get any doubt.
On which A4 called to Venkanna and told that he is calling from ACB Office and told that Upender and Naveen were caught with Rs.12 lakhs new cash and they also need to come to the ACB Office the next day. The accused persons have shared the money.
The public is hereby cautioned not to exchange money old demonetized money or new Rs.2000 notes for commission, and if anybody gets information about the money exchange, kindly inform to the Police or to the Income Tax Department.
The above operation was conducted under the supervision of Sri. S. Mohan Kumar, Inspector of Police, and all four accused were apprehended by Sri. B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy, Detective Inspector of Police, Panjagutta P.S, SI Sri. G. Venkat Reddy, along with Crime Staff of Panjagutta Police station, Hyderabad and recovered Rs. 12 lakhs New 2000 Notes intact from the possession of above accused. (Maxim News)
