Monsoon Session of Parliament 2025: Centre to Introduce 8 New Bills, Push Key Economic and Governance Reforms
New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 20 (Maxim News): The Monsoon Session of Parliament is set to begin on Monday, July 22, and will continue until August 21, with the Central Government preparing to introduce eight new Bills while also taking up seven pending legislations from previous sessions. The month-long session is expected to be a crucial one, especially in the lead-up to the Budget’s implementation and reform-focused governance.
At the top of the legislative agenda is the much-anticipated Income Tax Bill, 2025, which was originally introduced in the Lok Sabha during the Budget Session on February 13. The bill, along with proposed amendments, has since been reviewed by a Parliamentary Select Committee headed by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda. It now awaits final Cabinet approval before being tabled in Parliament for debate and passage.
Key Bills in the Spotlight
Among the most important new entries this session is the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which seeks to align the state’s GST legislation with national laws. Additionally, the government is expected to table a proposal to extend President’s Rule in Manipur, a constitutional requirement that must be approved every six months.

Another significant reform-oriented proposal is the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025, aimed at improving the ease of doing business in India by streamlining regulations and reducing compliance burdens for entrepreneurs and enterprises.
