Some donors handed over about 250 acres of land in survey number 104 in Tatiparthi limits of Yacharam mandal to the Bhoodan Yajna Board in 1955. In 1997, the state government… and in 2006, the Rangareddy District Collector recognized the land as Bhoodan… and issued circulars to this effect. To this extent, the Bhoodan Yajna Board also wrote a letter to the Yacharam Tahsildar in 2013. However, several people from the surrounding areas of Hyderabad claimed rights to the said land, saying that they had purchased it

In this context, the revenue officials considered the land acquisition undertaken for the pharmaceutical industry as pattas and paid a compensation of Rs. 40 crores at the rate of Rs. 16 lakhs per acre. On the other hand, the locals alleged that they were cultivating those lands and that they were not given land by Bhoodan when they applied for pattas. Moreover, they alleged that compensation was given by showing that someone else had the rights as part of the land acquisition for the pharmaceutical industry. That is, the price of 250 acres of land is estimated to be up to Rs. 400 crores. (Maxim News)
