Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan has long been America’s largest air base in South Asia. It was the center of American operations during the 20-year war against the Taliban. However, after the US left, the Taliban took over. Currently, the Taliban rule in Afghanistan continues. However, Trump is pressuring the Taliban to hand over the air base to them (Trump Bagram bid). They are demanding that this base be handed over to American forces to counter Chinese influence in South Asia. Many countries are opposing these efforts by Trump.

Several countries participated in the recent Moscow Format Consultations. They held extensive discussions on peace, prosperity and development in Afghanistan. In this context, a joint statement was issued. They issued a joint statement stating that the efforts of some countries to deploy their military infrastructure in Afghanistan and neighboring countries, which are detrimental to the interests of regional peace and stability, are unacceptable. Special representatives of Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in this meeting (Bagram air base controversy).

Bagram Airbase is located 40 kilometers from the Afghan capital Kabul (India Taliban alliance). This airbase is close to the Xinjiang region of China. China operates nuclear and military facilities in the Xinjiang region. With this, the US wants to spy on China from Bagram Airbase. China, Russia, Pakistan, and Iran do not agree to this. Recently, India has also spoken out against the US. (Maxim News)
