Voters Can Cast Their Vote Using These 12 Valid Photo ID Documents!

Hyderabad, Oct 10, (Maxim News) In view of the upcoming by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency scheduled on November 11, 2025, the GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer, R.V. Karnan, has issued a public advisory to ensure that every eligible voters is empowered to exercise their democratic right.

Voters whose names are present in the electoral rolls but do not possess an Electors’ Photo Identity Card (EPIC) can still cast their vote by presenting any one of the following 12 approved photo identification documents at the polling station:

Accepted Alternative Photo ID Documents:

  1. Aadhaar Card
  2. NREGA Job Card
  3. Passbook with photograph issued by Bank or Post Office
  4. Health Insurance Smart Card issued by the Ministry of Labour or Ayushman Bharat Health Card
  5. Driving License
  6. PAN Card
  7. Smart Card issued by Registrar General of India under National Population Register (NPR)
  8. Indian Passport
  9. Pension document with photograph
  10. Service Identity Card with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Government, PSUs, or Public Limited Companies
  11. Official Identity Cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
  12. Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment

DEO Karnan emphasized that voter identification is mandatory and urged all citizens to be aware of the acceptable documents to ensure smooth and inclusive polling. The Election Commission remains committed to facilitating free, fair, and accessible elections for every eligible voter. (Maxim News)
