Jubilee Hills By Poll: Probe Ordered On Fake Votes
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (Maxim News): Jubilee Hills fake votes probe ordered after a public allegation sparked concern on the first day of nominations for the by-election.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao, speaking at a large meeting of party workers in Rahamat Nagar, claimed that “Congress leaders had included 43 fake votes in one house.”
He also said Rahul Gandhi, who is touring the country on “vote theft,” should focus on “the vote theft taking place in Telangana.” The charge pushed electoral integrity to the center of the campaign conversation.
The allegation cited a specific address. KTR pointed to “43 votes recently registered” at a single premises as nominations opened.
Therefore, the claim immediately raised questions about the voter roll update process in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the remark tied the local charge to a national narrative on clean polls. Then, it added pressure for a swift official response before polling.
In this context, Election Officer RV Karnan moved to act. He took the allegation on his own motion and ordered an inquiry.
The probe will examine “the 43 votes recently registered in House No. 8-3-231/B/160 in Krishna Nagar under Yousufguda division.” The direction signals urgency as the nomination window runs. Also, it indicates a focus on verifying entries and procedures at the flagged address.
The inquiry is expected to check the basis for additions, address proof, and transfer protocols. Therefore, any discrepancies could lead to deletions or corrections as per rules.
Then, if prima facie violations emerge, further action may follow under election law. Meanwhile, parties will closely watch the verification, given the allegation’s potential to influence campaign messaging on fairness and vigilance.
The broader political framing remained sharp in the Rahamat Nagar address. KTR’s remarks combined a numerical claim with a call for attention from national leaders.
However, the official step by the election machinery now sets a formal track for establishing facts.
Later, findings from the Krishna Nagar check will clarify whether the claim holds as stated. Until then, the order underscores that the administration intends to address concerns ahead of the bypoll. (Maxim News)
