The action was taken as part of Hyderabad Traffic Police’s ongoing crackdown on traffic violations and the use of forged or illegal vehicle registration plates.

Fake Registration Number Exposed

During the enforcement drive, traffic personnel intercepted a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle displaying the registration number TG16B4921.

A real-time verification through the official e-Challan system revealed that the registration number actually belonged to a Honda SP 125 DLX motorcycle, confirming that the Pulsar was being operated with a fake number plate.

The rider was identified as Shaik Rasool Ali (26), a mechanic originally from Achampet in Mahabubnagar district, who is currently residing in Ameerpet and working in Miyapur.

Police said he failed to produce valid ownership documents or vehicle records during questioning.

During preliminary interrogation, Rasool Ali reportedly told police that he had purchased the motorcycle about six months ago from an unidentified seller through a Facebook Marketplace listing for ₹20,000.

To verify the actual ownership of the motorcycle and determine whether it is a stolen vehicle or linked to any other criminal activity, police seized the vehicle and handed both the rider and the motorcycle over to the Afzalgunj Law & Order Police Station.
