Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Chilkalguda police arrested a 36 year old man for the alleged murder of Immadi Srinivas at Mylargadda.
Police identified the accused as Mohammed Nizamuddin, alias Nizam, a resident of Bholakpur in Musheerabad.
The incident occurred on September 15, while police arrested Nizamuddin on September 16.
Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Chilkalguda Police Station.
According to police, Srinivas left home around 6 pm to purchase liquor from a nearby shop.
At around 7:10 pm, the accused allegedly attacked him with a knife on Mylargadda Road.

Srinivas sustained a serious abdominal injury and was taken to RTC Hospital.
He was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said Nizamuddin knew Srinivas’s son Sumanthrough business dealings and financial transactions.
According to the investigation, Suman incurred debts after losses in share market trading and left home in November 2023.
Police said Suman had not returned since then.
The accused allegedly claimed that he had invested money through Suman but could not recover it.
Police said Nizamuddin also approached a civil court over the financial dispute through O.S. No. 79/2024.
According to police, his continued inability to recover the money led to a grudge against Suman and his family.
Police alleged that Nizamuddin then decided to attack Suman’s father as an act of revenge.
Investigators arrested him and recovered a sharp edged curved knife allegedly used in the crime.
Police also recovered blood stained clothes and a TVS Ntorq scooter from the accused.
The investigation was carried out under the supervision of senior police officials in the Secunderabad Zone.
DCP Secunderabad Zone Rakshitha Krishna Murthy urged people to resolve financial disputes through police, courts or other lawful authorities.
She warned that violence, threats and intimidation over money disputes would invite legal action.
