On Duty Constable Murdered: DGP Serious About Incident

Nizamabad/Hyderabad, Oct 18 (Maxim News): The brutal murder of Constable Pramod, who was on duty at Nizamabad CCS (Central Crime Station), has been taken seriously by the state police high command. The incident of Sheikh Riyaz, a veteran criminal from Haimad Pura Colony in the Qilla area of Nizamabad district headquarters, brutally stabbing the on-duty police constable to death with a knife has become a topic of discussion.

Riyaz, a former criminal accused in chain snatching, theft and assault cases, was arrested by CCS SI Bhimrao and Constable Pramod on Friday night after senior officials suggested that he was a former criminal in the city’s Qilla area. As soon as they reached Vinayak Nagar area of the city, the criminal on the two-wheeler stabbed Constable Pramod in the chest with a knife. The constable, who was bleeding profusely, fell on the road in the attack. The accused later fled from there. Nizamabad Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya said that 8 special police teams have been formed to arrest the accused, considering the incident as serious. Police teams have launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya warned the media that the culprit who murdered Constable Pramod, a member of their police family, will be caught soon and strict legal action will be taken.

Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya has announced that the police department will offer a reward of Rs 50,000 to anyone who provides information about Sheikh Riyaz, the absconding criminal who murdered Constable Pramod. The accused is involved in many cases and if he is seen anywhere, a reward of Rs 50,000 will be given to those who immediately inform Dial 100 or your nearest police station. The Nizamabad Police Department has issued an announcement along with the phone numbers to provide information. (Maxim News)
