Hyderabad, Sept. 4 (Maxim News): The Telangana Assembly Ethics Committee has issued a notice to BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy over his conduct during a previous Assembly session. The committee has asked him to submit a written explanation by tomorrow.
The committee has reportedly warned of further action if Kaushik Reddy fails to respond within the deadline. The notice has triggered fresh political discussion around the Huzurabad MLA.
The issue relates to events during the Assembly session held on March 29. Heated exchanges took place between members of the ruling and opposition parties during the proceedings.
Complaints alleged that Kaushik Reddy’s conduct during the session violated the dignity and decorum of the House. Assembly authorities subsequently referred the matter to the Ethics Committee for examination.
The committee reviewed the complaints and available material concerning the MLA’s conduct. It later decided to seek a formal explanation from him.
Ethics Committee reviews complaints against MLA
The Ethics Committee held a meeting on August 29 to examine the matter. During the meeting, members considered the complaints and supporting material related to the March 29 proceedings.
Following that review, the committee decided to issue an official notice to Kaushik Reddy. The notice gives him an opportunity to explain his conduct before the committee considers further action.
The development comes after the MLA faced criticism over several controversial statements and actions. His conduct has repeatedly attracted political attention and public debate.
However, the latest notice concerns the specific events reported during the March 29 Assembly proceedings. The committee will consider his response before deciding its next course of action.
Kaushik Reddy’s response could therefore become important in determining whether the matter leads to any further proceedings. The committee has not yet announced any final disciplinary action against him.
The notice also highlights the Assembly’s role in addressing complaints about the conduct of its members. Ethics committees examine such issues and can consider disciplinary measures under the House’s rules.
For now, the Huzurabad MLA must submit his written explanation within the specified deadline. The next steps will depend on the committee’s assessment of his response. (Maxim News)
