Over 1,000 Women Participated In 5th Edition Of Starlight Strides – Women’s Night Run 2025

Hyderabad, October 26, 2025: The Hyderabad Runners Society, in association with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), successfully hosted the 5th Edition of Starlight Strides – Women’s Night Run 2025 at Gachibowli on Saturday night. The event celebrated women’s safety, fitness, and empowerment, bringing together over 1,100 enthusiastic participants under the shimmering night sky.

The run was flagged off by Ms Srujana, DCP – Women Safety; Mr Kalyan, Director – Kalamandir; and Mr Arun Kumar, President – Hyderabad Runners Society. SCSC extended strong on-ground support by deploying 20 trained traffic marshals, ensuring seamless coordination and participant safety throughout the evening.

“It’s inspiring to see so many women participating in a night run dedicated exclusively to them,” said DCP Ms Srujana. “Women too can run with power and grace — Kalamandir is proud to support such meaningful initiatives,” added Mr Kalyan.

Adding colour and tradition to the event, several saree runners joined the race — their participation drew loud cheers and became one of the evening’s highlights.

The run featured three categories — 10K Timed Run, 5K Timed Run, and 5K Fun Run — welcoming women of all age groups and fitness levels.

As part of the ‘Gift a Run’ initiative30 complimentary registrations were offered to women from NGOs such as Nirman, encouraging wider community participation.

Another special highlight was the “Women’s Kouch25K” — a 6-week structured training program by Hyderabad Runners Society. Over 180 women completed their 5K graduation run, guided by 22 inspiring women mentors who were felicitated on the occasion.

The evening concluded with the much-awaited “Run in Saree, Win Big” contest, presented by Kancheepuram Varamahalakshmi Silks, where winners took home gift vouchers worth ₹2 lakh for their spirited participation in traditional attire.

The Women’s Night Run 2025 once again reaffirmed Hyderabad Runners Society’s commitment to building a safe, inclusive, and fitness-oriented running culture for women in Hyderabad.
