Bhatti Defends Azharuddin | Hyderabad, Oct. 30: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for what he described as “politically motivated conspiracies” following the Congress party’s decision to induct former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin into the state cabinet.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Bhatti Vikramarka said both parties had resorted to divisive politics after Congress announced Azharuddin’s inclusion.
He alleged that the BJP’s complaint to the Election Commission opposing Azharuddin’s appointment reflected a “conspiracy to obstruct a respected national figure.”

Bhatti stated that the BRS and BJP often support each other for electoral gains.
He recalled that BRS helped the BJP in the previous parliamentary elections, while BJP supported BRS during the Jubilee Hills by-election.
He added that when defeat becomes apparent, BRS resorts to political conspiracies instead of facing the people.
Bhatti said no one who truly loves Telangana would oppose offering a ministerial role to Azharuddin, a person who “brought immense pride to the nation through his cricketing excellence.”
Condemning both opposition parties, he accused them of “playing politics in the name of religion” to gain short-term advantage.
Bhatti asserted that the BJP is using BRS for its convenience and political needs.
