Congress Confident Of Victory In Jubilee Hills Bypoll: Nizamuddin

  • TPCC spokesperson says voters backing Naveen Yadav and Revanth Reddy govt
  • BRS accused of propaganda politics and ignoring local civic issues

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin has expressed confidence that the Congress will secure a decisive win in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. He said the strong public response during door-to-door campaigning reflected growing trust in the Revanth Reddy-led government and its focus on welfare and transparency.

Addressing reporters during an intensive outreach programme in Shaikpet division on Saturday, Nizamuddin said, “The Congress government has shown that it is committed to welfare, transparency, and equality. From timely ration distribution to support for farmers, minorities, women, and unemployed youth, this government has demonstrated sincerity of purpose.” He asserted that the same could not be said of the previous BRS administration, which he accused of neglecting Jubilee Hills for a decade.

Taking aim at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Nizamuddin alleged that he was trying to “mislead voters with false and hollow claims” during his campaign for BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha. “People have not forgotten the waterlogging, damaged roads, and neglect of slum areas under BRS rule. The Revanth Reddy government is fixing those problems one by one,” he said. The Congress leader described the bypoll as a contest between “delivery and deception,” adding, “Congress represents a government that acts, while BRS represents a party that speaks.”

Nizamuddin also highlighted recent policy initiatives aimed at social justice and inclusion. He said the Chief Minister’s vision was reflected in the inclusion of minority professionals in state bodies, the expansion of educational opportunities, and the proposed enhancement of Muslim reservation from 4 to 10 percent. “These initiatives are not symbolic; they are practical steps for empowerment,” he said.

Warning against misinformation spread by rival parties, Nizamuddin said the BRS had been circulating “baseless claims” to divert attention from its poor record. “We have raised complaints with the Election Commission, and voters are seeing through these tactics,” he remarked. Praising Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav, he described him as a young, dynamic leader representing a new generation that believes in inclusive politics.

“The Jubilee Hills verdict will be a reflection of the public’s faith in transparent, people-centric governance,” Nizamuddin said, calling on voters to turn out in large numbers on November 11. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
