Hyderabad, Nov 5 (Maxim News): The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of threatening voters in the run-up to the Jubilee Hills by-election, alleging that his remarks marked a new low in State politics. Former MLA Balka Suman said at a press conference that no Chief Minister in the country’s history had ever resorted to intimidating voters during a poll campaign.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Suman said the Chief Minister’s comments showed the Congress party’s fear of losing the Jubilee Hills seat. He added that Revanth Reddy’s impatience was evident in his personal attacks on BRS working president K T Rama Rao. Suman alleged that the Congress government had been using State machinery to target BRS activists and accused it of promoting a culture of intimidation in the constituency.

He also charged Congress candidate V Naveen Yadav and his associates with threatening BRS supporters and questioned how a person with a criminal record was allowed to act as Naveen Yadav’s chief election agent. Suman claimed that such developments reflected the ruling party’s growing desperation as the by-election neared.

Meanwhile, BRS minority leaders criticised the Congress for allegedly betraying Muslim voters. BRS leader Mukheeb Chanda said the community had lost trust in Revanth Reddy’s leadership due to his “proximity to the BJP” and failure to honour commitments made before the election.

He referred specifically to the unfulfilled promise of constructing a graveyard in Borabanda. “Revanth Reddy repeatedly backtracked from promises made to the minorities, especially burial grounds for Muslims. Mohammed Azharuddin was given a Cabinet berth, only as a poll tactic,” Mukheeb Chanda stated.

The BRS leadership reiterated that Revanth Reddy’s comments and his government’s actions were undermining democratic values ahead of the November 11 by-election. The party maintained that voters in Jubilee Hills would deliver a clear message against what it called the Congress’s bullying and unfulfilled promises.
