Major Terror Conspiracy Foiled By Gujarat ATS

  • Three terrorists with ISI links arrested in Ahmedabad
  • ATS uncovers terror network; weapons seized in separate operations

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has foiled a major terror conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the country. Officials confirmed on Sunday that three suspected terrorists with links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, were arrested in Ahmedabad. They were allegedly involved in planning and supplying weapons for terrorist activities across various parts of India.

According to ATS officials, the suspects had been under surveillance for about a year. They were arrested when they attempted to exchange weapons in Gujarat as part of a wider terror plan. “In the investigation, steps have been taken to identify the places and individuals targeted by the terrorist groups,” an ATS spokesperson said. The agency stated that the operation was part of its sustained efforts to dismantle terror modules active in the region.

This development follows earlier arrests made by the ATS this year when five individuals linked to the Al-Qaeda network were detained. Among the five, one woman from Bengaluru was accused of running an online terror module with direct connections to handlers in Pakistan. On July 22, the ATS held four key individuals — Fardeen Sheikh, Saifullah Qureshi, Mohammad Faiq, and Zeeshan Ali — on charges of spreading Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) propaganda through social media platforms. Authorities recovered a semi-automatic pistol and live ammunition from Zeeshan Ali at that time.

In a follow-up operation, the ATS searched Zeeshan Ali’s home in Noida, where more weapons were seized. During this operation, three additional militants were arrested. Investigators accused them of promoting violence, calling for an armed rebellion against the central government, and encouraging attacks on non-Muslims. Officials said that investigations are ongoing to trace the wider network and identify additional conspirators. The Gujarat ATS remains on high alert to prevent further attempts to incite violence or spread extremist ideology within the country.
