- Security tightened at bus stands, railway stations, and airport
- NIA and state police continue searches after arrest in Hyderabad
A high alert remains in force across Hyderabad following the recent bomb blast in Delhi. Security has been tightened at all major public places. Extensive checks are taking place at bus stands, railway stations, and Shamshabad Airport. The alert has extended to metro cities nationwide as authorities respond to the growing security threat.
Railway Police conducted checks at Secunderabad Railway Station with the help of bomb and dog squads. The officials are leaving no stone unturned to ensure commuter safety. Police teams have also been deployed across religious places, tourist spots, and shopping malls. The city police urged citizens to alert authorities immediately if they notice any suspicious objects or persons. Surveillance on hotels and lodges has been intensified to track possible hideouts of suspects.
The search operations come amid rising concern that many terror-related activities traced elsewhere reportedly have links to Hyderabad. Investigative teams including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and police from various states carried out inspections in the city. Officials have confirmed the arrest of Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad in Rajendranagar on terrorism-related charges. Gujarat police conducted searches at his residence last midnight and reportedly seized several items.
Meanwhile, the massive blast that rocked Delhi two days ago continues to send shockwaves across the nation. The explosion occurred in a car parked near the Red Fort Metro Station signal, killing several people and injuring many others. As investigations progress, the central and state authorities remain cautious, maintaining high alert across major metro areas, including Hyderabad, to prevent any further incidents.
