Hyderabad: A tragic incident took place in Sangenkurdu village of Yalala mandal in Vikarabad district after a father died during his daughter’s wedding. The family had gathered for the ceremony, and the house was full of relatives. A tent had been set up in front of the freshly painted home, and wedding arrangements were underway. However, the shocking news of the father’s death brought the celebrations to a halt and left everyone in deep sorrow.
According to the details provided, Andala Anantappa, aged 46, was a farmer from Sangenkurdu. He had a daughter and a son with his first wife, Shakamma. After her death fifteen years ago, he married Lakshmi, and they had a son. Meanwhile, Anantappa decided to marry Avanti, his daughter from his first wife, to Bharath, a resident of the same village. The wedding was planned for Sunday, November 23, 2025, and the preparations had already begun.
On Friday, November 21, Anantappa travelled to the Yalala mandal centre for some minor work. While returning home in the evening, he lost control of his bike on the outskirts of the village and fell. He suffered severe head injuries in the accident. The family rushed him to the district hospital in Tandur, where he fell unconscious due to the impact of the injuries. He was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital for better treatment. However, his condition worsened, and he passed away in the early hours of Saturday, November 22.
The sudden death shattered the joyful atmosphere of the wedding. Relatives, who had gathered to celebrate, began to mourn. The family members and villagers wept as they witnessed the heartbreaking moment when the last rites were performed under the same tent that had been set up for the daughter’s wedding. The incident left the entire village in grief.
