Notorious House Burglar Arrested, Gold And Silver Ornaments Worth Rs.10 Lakhs Recovered In Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Bandlaguda police, part of the Chandrayangutta division in South East Zone, Hyderabad City, arrested a notorious house burglary offender and recovered gold and silver ornaments valued around Rs. 10 lakhs.
The arrested accused is Mohammed Saleem, also known by aliases Sunil Shetty, Ibrahim, and Setty Saleem.
The arrest followed a complaint filed on September 6, 2025, by Sri Shawanaz Mirza of Quba Colony, Bandlaguda. His house was burglarized, with gold ornaments and cash stolen.
Police registered the case under Crime No. 306/2025, invoking Sections 305 and 331(4) of the BNS Act, 2023, at Bandlaguda police station.
Bandlaguda Police Crack Notorious Burglary Case
Investigation efforts continued, leading to Saleem’s apprehension on December 1, 2025.
He was already under suspicion due to involvement in nearly 150 previous burglaries. The police maintain a suspect sheet on Saleem at Kanchan Bagh police station.
Saleem has a criminal record including detentions under the P.D. Act in 2018 at Kanchanbagh and in 2021 at Falaknuma.
He was in judicial custody until August 2025 after an April arrest, but committed more crimes after release.
Interrogation revealed Saleem confessed to three burglaries in Bandlaguda and one in Balapur.
Police recovered 10 tulas of gold and 10 tulas of silver ornaments from him, valued at approximately Rs. 10,00,000.
The investigation was overseen by Addl. DCP Srikanth of South East Zone and Assistant Commissioner A. Sudhakar of Chandrayangutta.
Bandlaguda SHO R. Devender and DI S. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy also participated. Sub-Inspector K. Yadaiah and his team received commendation for the swift arrest and recovery.
