Ranganath told the court that he felt deep remorse for the lapse. He added that the work continued without awareness of the court’s directions.

Ranganath submitted an affidavit stating that such an error would not recur. He assured the bench that future actions would strictly follow judicial instructions. After hearing his explanation, the court recorded his apology.

It then dismissed the contempt petition against him. The bench, however, adjourned further hearing on other issues in the matter to December 18.

The case relates to the protection of the Bathukamma Kunta lands at Amberpet. The dispute began after the High Court issued a status quo order on June 12.

Landowner Edla Sudhakar Reddy later filed the contempt plea. He alleged that HYDRA officials continued work at the site with bulldozers despite the directions. He claimed that the agency ignored the orders and allowed activity on the disputed land.

The bench had earlier directed the HYDRA Commissioner to appear in person.

The court sought clarity on the reasons behind the continued work. It also asked the officials to explain the sequence of events.

The petitioner maintained that the agency should have halted the work immediately after the June order. Officials said they would ensure strict compliance in all future actions.

With the apology recorded, the court closed the contempt plea against Ranganath. It will now take up the remaining concerns during the next hearing.
