NIMS Nurses Protest By Wearing Black Badges To Work

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (Maxim News)  Nurses from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) have launched a daily one-hour protest from Monday, demanding that the hospital’s management addresses their issues.

The members of NIMS Nursing Union here on Monday said that there are many grievances related to the well being of nurses, which have not been addressed by the hospital management.

“Today, we launched peaceful protests after multiple appeals to address the long-pending issues of the nursing officers failed to elicit an appropriate response from the administration,” they said.

As part of protests, the NIMS nursing officers wore black badges on Monday while performing their duties.

Some of the major grievances related to nursing officers is resumption of medical services at NIMS for parents of contract nursing officers, filling vacant posts of nursing officers, EL (Earned Leave) encashment, cadre review, providing appropriate status to NIMS Nursing College lecturers and giving them salaries as per AIIMS norms etc.

“On behalf of the Nursing Union, we urge the administration to immediately come forward to resolve these issues. Our peaceful and legal protest will continue until a solution is achieved,” the added. (Maxim News)
