Hyderabad, Dec. 18 (Maxim News) : The State Election Commission on Thursday announced the conclusion of the election process for the Telangana Panchayat Elections, stating that the Election Code will formally end at 5 pm today.
With the completion of polling related procedures, the Commission confirmed that all model code restrictions will cease from the stipulated time.
The State Election Commission thanked the Telangana government for extending full cooperation during the conduct of the Telangana Panchayat Elections.
It stated that coordinated efforts between departments ensured smooth management of polling, security arrangements, and administrative processes across the state.
She commended officers at all levels for effectively enforcing the Election Code and ensuring compliance throughout the election period. According to the Commission, disciplined implementation of guidelines played a key role in avoiding major violations during the process.
Election Commission thanks officials, announces ex gratia support
The Commission also expressed condolences over the deaths of two officials during the course of election duty.
It announced that ex gratia assistance would be provided to the bereaved families as per norms. Collectors have been directed to immediately submit proposals to the government to facilitate timely release of the ex gratia amount.
Officials stated that such support reflects the government’s responsibility towards personnel who serve during elections under challenging conditions. The Commission added that safeguarding the welfare of staff remains a priority in all electoral exercises.
With the end of the Election Code, routine administrative activities across Telangana are expected to resume without restrictions. Authorities indicated that departments may now proceed with decisions and programmes that were deferred due to the enforcement of the code.
The conclusion of the Telangana Panchayat Elections marks another completed phase in the state’s local governance process, with the Election Commission reiterating its commitment to transparent and orderly conduct of future elections. (Maxim News)
