- Ugandan national deported following H-NEW and FRRO action
A Ugandan national deported by Hyderabad police marks a key enforcement action against illegal stay and unlawful activities in the city. Police apprehended Juliana Victor Nabitaka, aged about 27 years, a native of Kampala in the Republic of Uganda. She had come to India on a Tourist Visa in the year 2024. Her visa expired on 18-01-2025, while her passport remains valid up to 31-10-2033. Despite the expiry, she continued to stay in India illegally, according to official information.
Police said that during her illegal stay, Juliana Victor Nabitaka associated with drug peddlers, supplied drugs, and indulged in unlawful activities. Meanwhile, officers tracked her movements based on inputs. While she was moving with a drug peddler within the limits of Tolichowki Police Station, personnel of H-NEW apprehended her. The interception led to further questioning regarding her presence and activities in Hyderabad.
During interrogation, Juliana Victor Nabitaka failed to provide any proper explanation or valid documents related to her stay in the city. Police conducted a thorough enquiry. During this process, she admitted that she did not possess a valid visa and had been overstaying in India even after the expiry of his visa. Officials treated this admission as a clear violation of immigration rules and related laws.
Therefore, police initiated steps to deport her to her native country, the Republic of Uganda. The H-NEW began the deportation process with assistance from the FRRO, Hyderabad. Later, the FRRO issued an exit permit. Authorities also blacklisted her from re-entering India. These steps formed part of the formal repatriation process, as confirmed by officials.
Meanwhile, police arranged her travel details. Her ticket was booked from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. Her departure was scheduled for the early hours of 21-12-2025. Accordingly, a team of H-NEW, led by G.S. Daniel, Inspector, escorted her to the airport. She was deported to Uganda on 21-12-2025 at 04.00hrs.
Police stated that this action prevented her from indulging in undesirable activities detrimental to national security. Officials emphasised that such enforcement will continue against foreigners staying illegally and engaging in unlawful acts. The Ugandan national deported case reflects coordinated action between H-NEW and FRRO to ensure compliance with visa regulations and internal security measures in Hyderabad.
