Hyderabad, Jan 9 (Maxim News): An interesting development has taken place in Telangana politics. Congress ministers Seethakka and Konda Surekha went to former CM KCR’s farmhouse. It is interesting that both the women ministers set aside the political differences between the government and the opposition and met former Chief Minister KCR. It is noteworthy that both of them went to the farmhouse to request KCR to come to the Medaram Sammakka and Sarakka Maha Jatara.
On this occasion, State Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, Panchayat Raj and Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Seethakka visited KCR’s residence in Erravelli this evening. They were warmly welcomed by former MP Joginpally Santosh Kumar. Santosh Kumar presented saplings to both of them and took them to KCR. The two ministers also cordially invited the main opposition leader KCR and his wife to attend the upcoming biggest tribal festival Medaram ‘Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara’ ( Medaram Jatara – 2026) on behalf of the government. On this occasion, the ministers covered KCR with a shawl and presented the invitation letter to the fair along with the Medaram prasadam.
Meanwhile, the KCR couple also received them with the same courtesy. KCR and Shobhamma couple gave a grand welcome to the women ministers who came to their residence. Upon seeing them, KCR greeted them warmly, saying, “Are you okay, Amma?” The KCR couple welcomed them not just as political leaders but as girls who had come home and presented them with a saree made of turmeric and saffron. . Later, they drank tea with them. They chatted for a while and learned about the benefits of yoga.
Meanwhile, the country’s largest tribal fair, Medaram Sammakka, Sarakka Maha Jatara, will begin on January 28 and end on January 31. Large-scale arrangements have already been made for this festival. Officials expect a large number of devotees to flock to the fair this time as there are also Sankranthi holidays. Lakhs of devotees from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states will come to this four-day grand fair. That is why the Telangana government, which has taken this grand fair of virgin goddesses as a prestigious event, has allocated huge funds.
This time, the Sammakka and Sarakka Gaddes of Jatra are being decorated with new features. As part of the master plan, the iron structures around the Gaddes in the past are being removed and the Sammakka and Sarakka Gaddes are being constructed with natural stone structures. In addition to increasing the height of the Gaddes, marble grills are being installed around them. The Gaddes premises are being expanded to 180 feet in length and 40 feet in width to accommodate the rush of devotees. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit Medaram on the 18th of this month to inspect the arrangements for the fair. The Telangana government has undertaken various infrastructure development works in the area where the Medaram Jatara will be held as well as in the surrounding villages. In addition, the government has paid special attention to the arrangements for security, transportation, drinking water and medical facilities. Officials say that this time the Medaram Jatara will be a feast for the eyes.
The Medaram Maha Jatara ( MEDARAM JATHARA) is a four-day festival with major events. The festival begins on January 28 with the enthronement of Saralamma, Pagidda Raju and Govinda Raju from Kannepalli. On January 29, the Sammakka goddess is brought to the enthronement from Chilakalagutta. On January 30, devotees offer offerings (gold) to the goddess. The festival ends on the last day, January 31, with the entry of the gods into the forest. (Maxim News)
