The accused was identified as Barpati Krishna, who was working as the panchayat secretary of Ganugabanda village. As per the details, a villager approached him to assign a number to his newly constructed house. During this process, the secretary allegedly demanded a bribe. Therefore, the victim decided to approach ACB officials and report the matter.

Meanwhile, ACB officials planned a trap based on the complaint. They instructed the complainant and laid out a strategy. Later, the officials caught Barpati Krishna while he was accepting Rs. 6,000 as a bribe. The cash was seized from him on the spot. Officials then registered a case against the panchayat secretary under relevant sections.

After the arrest, ACB officials produced the accused before the Additional Special Judge of the Nampally ACB Court. Further legal proceedings will follow as per procedure. Officials said the case highlights continued efforts to curb corruption at the grassroots level.

This incident is part of a larger pattern seen in recent days. According to ACB officials, a total of seven government officials were caught taking bribes over the last four consecutive days. Just a day earlier, Civil Supplies Manager Jaganmohan was caught by anti corruption officials in Wanaparthy. He was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 on Thursday.

Earlier this month, on the 7th, Warangal KUC Sub Inspector P. Srikanth was also caught by ACB officials. On the same day, the MPDO and MPO Panchayat Secretary of Nandigama mandal in Rangareddy district were caught in separate cases. These incidents point to repeated enforcement action by the ACB.

Before these cases, Akavaram Kiran Kumar, who was working as an Endowment Inspector in the Boggukunta Endowment Commissioner’s Office in Hyderabad, was caught red handed. He was accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 at the time of his arrest. Therefore, the latest panchayat secretary bribe case adds to a growing list of corruption cases detected across Telangana.
