- Equitable development drives ₹60 crore works in Nizamabad
- Equitable development focus seen in CMRF, Dalit outreach
Hyderabad: Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the Congress government believes in equitable development and remains committed to equal attention for all communities and regions. He spoke at several programmes held in Nizamabad on Sunday. These events included the launch of development works worth ₹60 crore, distribution of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund cheques, felicitation of Dalit representatives, and celebrations marking the 219th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna.
At Vinayak Nagar, leaders laid foundation stones for integrated development works across 60 municipal divisions. Each division received an allocation of ₹1 crore, taking the total to ₹60 crore. Also, the government allotted ₹6 crore for a 33/11 KV substation. This project aims to address voltage fluctuations and electricity supply problems in the town. Shabbir Ali and PCC president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud led the programme. They said the government works without political bias. “Earlier, there was discrimination in allocation of funds. Now, every division is getting equal priority,” said Shabbir Ali. He added that the funds would improve drainage, build internal roads, and install streetlights.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the ₹60 crore allocation was only the beginning. He promised to bring more funds in the future. “Our aim is to develop Nizamabad in every possible way,” he said. MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, NUDA Chairman Keshava Venu, and local party leaders attended the event. Therefore, the programme underlined the government’s claim of balanced growth across divisions.
Later, at the R&B Guest House in Nizamabad, 32 beneficiaries from different divisions received CMRF cheques worth ₹26 lakh. Shabbir Ali said the fund supports poor families facing hardship due to illness or accidents. He urged officials and party leaders to work together to ensure timely help to genuine beneficiaries. Also, Mahesh Kumar Goud stressed transparency in distribution. “There are no middlemen, no bribes. Help is reaching the right people without any interference,” he said.
Then, at Ambedkar Bhavan, Mala Mahanadu organised a felicitation programme for newly elected Sarpanches, Deputy Sarpanches, and Ward Members from the Mala community. Shabbir Ali said elected representatives must act as the voice of the marginalised and follow Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals. He added that the government remains committed to Dalit and backward class welfare. Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy said constitutional safeguards made today’s political rights possible. He promised efforts to allocate special funds for Dalit colonies and to promote education schemes such as the Overseas Education Fund.
Finally, in Vaddera Colony, Shabbir Ali unveiled a statue of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna during his 219th birth anniversary celebrations. “Vadde Obanna led tribal fighters through the Nallamala forests and resisted British troops. His role in the freedom movement deserves greater recognition,” Shabbir Ali said. He appealed for Obanna’s story to be included in school textbooks. Congress leaders and officials attended the events.
