Revanth Reddy Medaram visit | Hyderabad, Jan. 19 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday offered special prayers to the tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma during the second day of his Medaram visit, marking an important spiritual and administrative engagement of the state government.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by ministers and family members, inaugurated the newly modernised Sammakka Saralamma Gaddelu premises and a newly constructed pylon at Medaram.

The government recently completed these development works at a cost of about Rs 101 crore. The upgrades aim to improve facilities for devotees and reflect the cultural significance of the Medaram Jatara.

After inaugurating the facilities, Revanth Reddy offered his first prayers at the deity platforms. He also participated in the traditional Tulabharam ritual along with his grandson.

As part of his vow, the Chief Minister offered 68 kilograms of jaggery, equal to his body weight, to the forest deities. Devotees often call jaggery “standing gold” because of its ritual value in Medaram.

Later, the Chief Minister, along with his family, prayed for the happiness and well being of the people of Telangana.

CM Revanth expressed devotion and reverence while performing the rituals, drawing attention from pilgrims present at the shrine.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said the government is committed to organising the Medaram Jatara on the scale of the Kumbh Mela.

He stated that officials completed development works in a manner that reflects tribal culture and tradition.

He also added that the state ensured all arrangements to make the mega tribal festival grand and smooth for devotees.

Medaram Jatara is one of the largest tribal gatherings in Asia. Therefore, the government has focused on infrastructure, safety, and amenities for pilgrims. Officials said these works would support better crowd management and enhance the overall experience for visitors.

After concluding his Medaram visit, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy left directly for Davos in Switzerland. He is scheduled to participate in meetings aimed at attracting investments to Telangana.

The visit forms part of the state’s broader plan to promote economic growth and global partnerships.
