Municipal Election: Congress Appoints Incharges in Telangana

Municipal Election | Hyderabad, Jan. 19 (Maxim News): Congress has moved swiftly to prepare for the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana by appointing senior leaders as election incharges across key parliamentary constituencies.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the appointments after the cabinet meeting held at Medaram, signaling the party’s focused push for urban local body polls.

The government recently decided to hold municipal elections in February. Following this decision, the Chief Minister assigned responsibilities to senior ministers and leaders to oversee election strategy.

These incharges will supervise candidate selection, coordination with party cadres, and campaign planning at the ground level. Therefore, the move is seen as a major organizational exercise ahead of the polls.

Congress Municipal Election Incharges in Telangana

As part of the plan, Sudarshan Reddy was appointed incharge for the Adilabad parliamentary constituency.

Similarly, Uttam Kumar Reddy was given charge of the Nizamabad segment.

Meanwhile, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will oversee municipalities and corporations under the Malkajgiri parliamentary area.

For the Chevella constituency, the party named Duddilla Sridhar Babu as the incharge.

In addition, the Congress leadership entrusted Tummala Nageswara Rao with responsibilities for Karimnagar.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was assigned the Warangal parliamentary constituency. Likewise, Konda Surekha was appointed incharge for Khammam. Through these appointments, the party aims to strengthen coordination across all urban local bodies.

Meanwhile, political activity has intensified across the state. Aspirants have already begun lobbying for tickets, while party workers have started mobilization efforts.

At the same time, opposition parties including BRS and BJP are also gearing up for a tough contest in urban areas.

According to party sources, the Election Commission is expected to issue the municipal election notification within three days.

Therefore, Congress has accelerated its internal preparations. With clear leadership roles defined, the party hopes to gain an edge and improve its performance in towns and cities across Telangana.
