Thiruvananthapuram/Hyderabad, Jan 20 (Maxim News): Like in Tamil Nadu, a controversy erupted in Kerala on the first day of the assembly session. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who addressed the opening of the assembly session, did not read all the points in the speech copy given by the government. He left out those points that were critical of the central government.
The Kerala government expressed its displeasure. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that he had left out two parts of the policy speech approved by the state cabinet. After Arlekar left the House, the CM told the Speaker that the Governor had not read the opening points of paragraph 12 and the closing points of paragraph 15 of the speech.
On this occasion, Speaker AN Shamshir responded.. The Speaker said that the policy speech approved by the state cabinet as per the rules of the House will be considered official. He said that the speech made by the Governor will not be officially recognized, leaving out some points. Meanwhile, in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly session, the Governor’s departure from the Assembly in the middle of his speech was also a topic of discussion. (Maxim News)
