HMDA Propose Two Major Road Works In ORR Limits To Ease Traffic Bottlenecks

The proposed infrastructure project is expected to ease traffic movement in the surrounding areas of Kokapet, Manikonda, Gandipet, Puppalguda and Narsingii.

HGCL has taken up development of the Pipeline road from Shankarpally road at MGIT to Manikonda for a length of 3.57Km, and the state government has accorded administrative sanction of Rs110 crore.

The proposed development includes construction of a 6 lane carriage way with a 10 meters median to accommodate heritage channel, drain cum footpath on either side of the carriage way, culverts and minor bridges, junction improvement and landscaping works.

Tenders will be floated on the e-procurement platform shortly, according to an official release.

In the second instance, a major infra project is the widening of the Left Main Carriage Way (MCW) of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Nanakramguda to Gachibowli.

The ORR main carriageway (3+3 lanes without service roads) has been constructed from Nanakramguda to Gachibowli with a ROW of 75 m. At the Gachibowli Junction, two flyovers —towards Kondapur and Shilpa Layout—constructed by GHMC have approach ramps on either side of the existing carriageway, creating a traffic bottleneck.

To address the increased traffic demand and alleviate congestion near the flyover approaches, HGCL has proposed widening the left-side carriageway of the ORR from three lanes to four lanes up to Gachibowli.

The state government has accorded administrative sanction for Rs.26.50 crore. Tenders will be floated on the e-procurement platform by HGCL on January 27, with the last date of submission as February 9, 2026. (Maxim News)
