Balmur Venkat lodges complaint against KTR Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Jan. 23 (Maxim News): Legislative Council member Balmur Venkat on Friday filed a formal complaint with the Director General of Police against BRS leaders K.Tarak Rama Rao and T Harish Rao in connection with the phone tapping case.

He alleged that the two leaders were threatening Special Investigation Team officials and attempting to influence the ongoing investigation.

Venkat submitted representations with supporting material to the Additional DGP, seeking legal action.

Balmur Venkat stated that the statements made by KTR and Harish Rao were creating fear among investigating officers. He objected to remarks that allegedly warned officials of consequences after a change in government.

He claimed such statements amounted to intimidation of investigators and could legally be treated as an offence. According to the complaint, attempts were being made to influence not only officials but also potential witnesses in the case.

Venkat said the investigation into the phone tapping case was being conducted strictly as per law. He added that if the accused had committed no wrongdoing, they should cooperate with the SIT and place facts before investigators.

He further alleged that the leaders were making contradictory statements, speaking differently during questioning and later addressing the media in another tone. He demanded the arrest of KTR and Harish Rao to ensure the probe proceeds without interference.

The MLC asserted that accountability was essential and that anyone found guilty in the phone tapping case must face punishment under law. (Maxim News)
