Municipal Elections: BRS Finalises Winning Strategy

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has finalised its strategy to win a significant number of municipalities and municipal corporations in the upcoming municipal elections in the state. The decision followed a crucial meeting led by party supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao. He met the party’s working president KT Rama Rao and other senior leaders to shape the party’s approach to the urban local bodies polls. The party leadership focused on strengthening the organisation and preparing the cadre for an intense contest.
During the meeting, K Chandrashekhar Rao gave specific instructions to galvanise party workers across the state. He asked leaders to prepare the cadre to give a tough fight to the ruling Congress in the municipal elections. Party leaders said the discussions focused on improving coordination and sharpening campaign efforts at the local level. Therefore, the leadership stressed discipline, unity, and daily monitoring of developments.
As part of the municipal elections strategy, the party appointed special coordinators for every municipality and municipal corporation. A special system has also been put in place to ensure regular reporting. According to party leaders, election trends and ground reports will be submitted daily to the party’s central office at Telangana Bhavan. These reports will also reach the working president every day. Meanwhile, this mechanism aims to keep the leadership closely informed about local conditions.
The party also designated a senior leader as election in charge for each municipality across the state. Their main task will be to unite party ranks at the grassroots level. They will also frame election strategies based on local needs and political conditions. These coordinators will remain in their respective municipalities throughout the election process. Later, they will play a key role in candidate selection by consulting local leaders, identifying winnable candidates, and sending regular reports to the party high command. They will also oversee campaign programmes and coordinate with booth level agents.
Following these decisions, KT Rama Rao officially released the complete list of municipal election coordinators appointed by the party. He called upon the party cadre to work towards the goal of winning the municipal elections with public support.
Meanwhile, leaders said the meeting also covered political developments in the state. These included discussions on the SIT probe into the phone tapping case, in which KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao were recently summoned and questioned. The leaders also briefed K Chandrashekhar Rao about the Singareni tenders issue and the state government’s role in the episode.
