Congress reviews Telangana municipal elections strategy

Congress | Hyderabad, Feb 9: The high intensity campaign for the Telangana municipal elections ends today, marking the close of a crucial phase in the state.

As the campaign concluded, the ruling Congress sharpened its strategy across urban local bodies.

On the final day of campaigning, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held an urgent Zoom meeting with ministers this morning.

The meeting followed the completion of Congress campaign activities across eight districts. The Chief Minister reviewed the political situation in 116 municipalities and seven corporations statewide.

During the meeting, Revanth Reddy sought detailed inputs from ministers. Reddy assessed ground level public sentiment and opposition tactics. He also reviewed voter mood in each urban body. Ministers briefed him on local issues and campaign feedback. The discussion focused on last mile coordination.

Afterward, the Chief Minister directed ministers to stay alert until polling ends. He stressed constant vigilance during the silence period.

Moreover, he asked leaders to resolve internal dissent immediately. He also instructed them to address rebel issues without delay. He urged unity within the party cadre.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy reviewed the role of ministers in promoting government guarantees and welfare schemes.

Reddy emphasized taking these initiatives strongly to voters. He stated that ministers must continue outreach efforts until polling day, within election norms.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister set a clear goal. He asked the party to secure the maximum number of municipalities. Reddy said the municipal election results would reflect the government’s performance. He underlined that urban voters would judge delivery and governance.

Notably, the meeting took place hours before campaign microphones fall silent this evening. As a result, the interaction infused fresh energy among Congress leaders. Party sources said the review boosted confidence ahead of polling.

The Congress now prepares for the next phase with focused coordination.
