Rajya Sabha Elections Schedule Announced For Telangana
Hyderabad, Feb. 18: The Election Commission has announced the Rajya Sabha elections schedule for two seats from Telangana as part of nationwide polls for 37 vacancies.
According to the schedule, notification will be issued on February 26. Nominations will be accepted until March 5. Scrutiny will take place on March 6, while candidates can withdraw nominations until March 9.
Polling will be held on March 16 from 9 am to 4 pm. Counting will begin at 5 pm the same day. The entire Rajya Sabha election process across the country will conclude by March 20.
Rajya Sabha Elections Schedule for Two Telangana Seats
The terms of Telangana MPs K R Suresh Reddy and Abhishek Manu Singhvi will end on April 9. Therefore, the Election Commission has initiated the process to fill these two seats.
K R Suresh Reddy represents Bharat Rashtra Samithi. Abhishek Manu Singhvi represents the Congress party in the Rajya Sabha.

Nationwide, elections will be held for 37 Rajya Sabha seats. These include seven seats in Maharashtra, six each in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, four in Bihar, three each in Odisha and Assam, two in Chhattisgarh, and one each in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, besides two in Telangana.
