Arrive Alive Campaign Phase 2 Held At Vivek Vardhini College

Hyderabad, Feb. 26 (Maxim News): The Sultan Bazar Traffic Police organised a road safety awareness programme at Vivek Vardhini College on February 26, 2026.

The initiative formed part of the Arrive Alive Campaign Phase 2. Police officials educated students on traffic rules and responsible driving practices.

Shri Avinash Kumar, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic 1, attended as Chief Guest. Addressing students, he urged them to remain alert while driving.

He strongly warned against negligent behaviour on roads. Moreover, he introduced the concept of defensive driving. He explained that defensive driving helps motorists anticipate hazards and adjust to errors made by others.

A Ramulu, Additional DCP Traffic 1, stressed that every occupant in a vehicle must wear a seat belt. He cautioned students against overtaking from the left.

In addition, he advised them to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. He said disciplined driving ensures personal safety and protects others.

Arrive Alive Campaign Phase 2 Promotes Road Safety

Shri S Mohan Kumar, ACP Traffic Khairatabad Zone, emphasised helmet use. He said both rider and pillion rider must wear helmets at all times.

Furthermore, he asked students to avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving. He noted that lack of attention often leads to preventable accidents.

Traffic Inspector Emmanuel of Sultan Bazar and Begumpet TTI Inspector Nagula Ashok also attended. Police personnel Sai Kumar and Krishna supported the programme.

College Principal D Vidyadhar, along with NCC and NSS officers, participated actively. Students engaged with officers and raised questions on safe driving habits.

The Arrive Alive Campaign Phase 2 aims to create awareness among youth.

Police officials stated that young drivers play a crucial role in promoting traffic discipline. Hence, the department plans to conduct similar programmes in other educational institutions across the city.

Officials reiterated that strict adherence to traffic rules can significantly reduce road accidents.
