Officials said the problem occurred in question number 21 under Section C of the question paper. However, the error appeared only in the English medium version of the Telangana Inter Physics Exam paper. Meanwhile, the Telugu medium question paper did not contain any mistake.

In the Telugu medium paper, question number 21 included two parts. The first part carried six marks and asked students to explain the principle and working of a nuclear reactor with a diagram. The second part included an additional two mark numerical problem. Both parts together carried a total of eight marks.

The numerical question asked students to calculate the amount of energy released if one microgram of uranium is completely destroyed in an atomic bomb explosion. Therefore, students answering both parts in the Telugu medium paper had a complete eight mark question as intended.

However, the English medium Telangana Inter Physics Exam paper did not include the two mark numerical problem. As a result, students saw only the six mark theory portion. Officials later confirmed that the second part was missing due to an error in the English medium question paper.

Meanwhile, a senior official from the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education clarified that students would not face any disadvantage due to the mistake. The official said that students who attempted question number 21 in the English medium paper will still be evaluated for the full eight marks.

The board also addressed accountability for the error. The official stated that action would be taken against the persons responsible for the mistake. Therefore, the evaluation process will be adjusted to ensure fairness for students who wrote the English medium Telangana Inter Physics Exam.
