Hyderabad: Police arrested two persons for selling ganja in Jawahar Nagar in the Malkajgiri area of Medchal district. The arrests followed a joint raid conducted by the Special Operations Team (SOT) and Jawahar Nagar police in Mallikarjun Nagar.

According to police, the action took place after officers received information about illegal ganja sales in the area. Therefore, the SOT team and Jawahar Nagar police carried out a coordinated raid. During the operation, officers caught two individuals who were allegedly involved in selling ganja.

The accused were identified as Kaushik (23) and Devendra (22). Police said the two were illegally selling ganja in the locality. Meanwhile, officers detained both suspects during the raid and later shifted them to the Jawahar Nagar police station for further legal action.

During the operation, police also seized 1.05 grams of marijuana from the suspects. Officials confirmed that the contraband was recovered from their possession at the time of arrest. Later, the seized material was taken into custody as evidence in the case.

The police registered the case and began further procedures at the Jawahar Nagar police station. Meanwhile, officials said the investigation will continue to determine whether the accused were part of a larger network involved in the sale of ganja in the area.

Authorities have been increasing checks against illegal drug sales in different parts of the district. Therefore, police teams are conducting raids and surveillance in several localities. Officials said such operations aim to prevent drug distribution and maintain public safety.
