The association said GO 84 has imposed strict rules on large hoardings. According to them, the order is affecting the outdoor advertising sector. They also claimed the rule could impact the livelihood of over one lakh people.
Meanwhile, the group chose this method to draw attention during Assembly discussions. They said the protest aimed to highlight their concerns directly. Therefore, they used hoardings themselves to present their appeal.
The association also referred to earlier political protests on public issues. They noted that political parties had earlier used similar methods. Now, outdoor media owners say they are using the same approach to protect their industry.
The protest has drawn attention during the ongoing Assembly session. The association hopes the government will review GO 84. Further response from the government is awaited. (Maxim News)
