Oil Palm Price Hike Reaches Rs 23,005 Per Tonne

Hyderabad, April 2: The price of oil palm kernels has increased, bringing relief to farmers. The rate has risen from Rs. 21,546 per tonne to Rs. 23,005 per tonne. This marks an increase of Rs. 1,459, which is seen as a positive development for growers.

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao expressed happiness over the oil palm price hike. He said the increase would benefit farmers financially. According to him, the higher price will improve returns and support farm incomes.

Meanwhile, the minister said the government has already taken steps to make oil palm cultivation more profitable. These measures include providing free seedlings to farmers. The government is also offering modern drip irrigation facilities. In addition, it is setting up processing units to ensure faster movement of produce.

Therefore, the government aims to support farmers at multiple levels. It is focusing on both production and marketing aspects. These efforts are expected to strengthen the oil palm sector in the state. The minister highlighted that such initiatives help farmers reduce costs and increase output.
