- Higher Air Command Course concludes at Secunderabad CAW

Hyderabad, April 3: The valedictory function of the 49th Higher Air Command Course was held at the College of Air Warfare in Secunderabad on April 1, 2026. The course is the annual flagship programme of the institution and aims to prepare senior officers for key command and staff roles.
The course began on June 23 last year and included officers of the rank of Group Captain and equivalent from all three services. It focused on improving understanding of operational and strategic use of aerospace power. It also provided exposure to integrated operations and other elements of national power.
Meanwhile, Air Marshal Manish Khanna, Air Officer Commanding in Chief of Southern Air Command, Indian Air Force, attended the event as the Reviewing Officer. In his valedictory address, he stressed the importance of jointmanship and integration in modern military operations. He also congratulated the participants for completing the course successfully.
He appreciated the efforts of the College of Air Warfare for conducting professional military education in an effective manner. The institution plays a key role in training officers from all three services. Therefore, it continues to support leadership development at senior levels.

Later, the Air Marshal released the CAW and HACC Journal for 2026 during the ceremony. The event also recognised outstanding performers. Group Captain Danpreet Paul Singh Bali received the Air Chief Marshal LM Katre Trophy for Best Overall Performance.
Colonel S Pradeep received the Commandant’s Trophy for Excellence in Academics. He also won the Air Marshal KB Singh Trophy for the Best Individual Research Paper. These awards highlighted excellence in both academic and research areas.
The ceremony marked the successful completion of the course. It also reflected the continued focus on strengthening leadership and operational skills within the armed forces.
