The minister instructed hospitals to stay fully prepared amid rising temperatures. Therefore, authorities must arrange special teams in every hospital to handle emergency cases.
Officials said hospitals already stocked essential medicines, ORS packets, and IV fluids. Moreover, they confirmed readiness to treat patients without delay.
Authorities will also set up shaded areas within hospital premises. This step aims to reduce discomfort for patients and attendants.
Meanwhile, the minister directed hospitals to deploy dedicated emergency teams. These teams must start treatment as soon as a patient arrives. Therefore, staff must receive proper training for handling heatstroke cases.
Awareness Drive and Safety Measures Intensified
The minister reviewed awareness programmes on heatstroke prevention. He asked officials to conduct campaigns at hospitals, bus stands, and crowded places.
The minister also warned about fire risks during summer. He instructed officials to inspect electrical systems and replace old wiring where necessary.
Moreover, hospitals must conduct fire safety drills and ensure fire equipment is functional. Authorities must also coordinate with local fire departments for emergency response.
Public Advised to Take Precautions
The minister urged people to remain cautious during extreme heat. He advised avoiding outdoor activity during peak hours. In addition, citizens must carry drinking water and stay hydrated.
He also asked families to take extra care of children, elderly persons, and pregnant women. If anyone shows symptoms of heatstroke, they should seek immediate medical help.
Furthermore, he urged the public to assist victims and inform emergency services like 108 ambulances.
