BRS Faces Fresh Jolt as Ex MLA May Join BJP

BRS | Hyderabad, April 22 (Maxim News): Telangana’s main opposition BRS may face another setback as reports suggest former Armur MLA A. Jeevan Reddy could soon join the BJP. Several leaders have already left the party, and this fresh buzz has triggered new political speculation.

If the move happens, it may dent BRS morale at a time when the party is trying to regain momentum after recent political developments.

The speculation gained pace after Jeevan Reddy reportedly appeared at the residence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi. As a result, political circles began debating the purpose of the meeting.

Since BRS and BJP remain rivals in the united Nizamabad district, the sudden meeting has drawn attention. Many leaders are now asking whether Jeevan Reddy held talks over a possible political shift.

However, there is no official confirmation yet from either side. Therefore, the reason behind the meeting remains unclear.

After the 2023 Assembly elections, Jeevan Reddy maintained a low political profile. Moreover, local observers said he stayed away from active BRS programmes in recent months.

Reports also noted that authorities sealed his commercial property in Armur, which added to discussions about his future political course. Because of this, rumours of an exit from BRS have intensified.

Recently, Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind said the BJP would witness major joinings soon. Consequently, many now link Jeevan Reddy’s Delhi visit with the BJP’s expansion plans in Telangana.

At the same time, questions remain over whether local BJP leaders would welcome his entry. That internal equation has also become a talking point.

For now, neither Jeevan Reddy nor party leaders have issued a formal statement. Yet, his Delhi meeting has become one of the hottest topics in Telangana politics. (Maxim News)
