Hyderabad, April 30: BJP MP Dr K Laxman strongly criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi over its political future in Telangana. He said the BRS has no future and compared the party to a dead snake.
He stated that people gave the BRS the role of opposition. However, he alleged that party chief K Chandrashekar Rao failed to act responsibly. He said KCR did not attend Assembly sessions and ignored public issues. Therefore, he accused the leadership of neglecting democratic responsibilities.
Moreover, Laxman said it is better to speak less about a party that is losing relevance. He claimed the BRS is gradually fading from the political landscape. As a result, he asserted that the party no longer holds strong influence in the state.
BJP rejects alliance with BRS
Meanwhile, Laxman clarified speculation about a possible alliance between BJP and BRS. He firmly denied any such possibility. He said there is no question of forming an alliance with the BRS in future elections.
He added that such reports are baseless and misleading. Instead, he said the BJP will contest elections independently. He expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge as the main alternative in Telangana.
Furthermore, he said the party will directly engage with people across the state. He stressed that BJP aims to strengthen its base through grassroots outreach. Therefore, he dismissed alliance talks as political rumors.
His remarks triggered reactions within political circles. On one hand, BRS leaders took note of the criticism. On the other hand, the statement put an end to ongoing alliance speculation.
Overall, Laxman’s comments reflect BJP’s clear strategy in Telangana. The party plans to position itself as the primary opposition force. Consequently, it aims to expand its political footprint ahead of upcoming elections. (Maxim News)
