Hyderabad, May 1: International drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola was living in Turkey using a Bulgarian passport under the fake name “Hamza”, officials said.
He was recently brought to India and is now in custody.
Salim Dola Fake Identity In Turkey
A court in Mumbai remanded Dola to the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau till May 8.
Investigators said Dola had been staying in Turkey under an assumed identity.
Authorities are verifying whether the Bulgarian passport he used was genuine or forged.
The agency informed the court that Dola is linked to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
He has been identified as a key supplier in a mephedrone drug case registered in south Mumbai in June 2023.
Dola was arrested in Turkey based on an Interpol Red Notice issued at India’s request in March 2024.
He was wanted in multiple narcotics trafficking cases and had been evading agencies for years.
Officials brought him to New Delhi earlier this week.
The investigation is ongoing to uncover his international network and operations.
